Whistling Bird

This is a real gem of the North Country. Food was great, atmosphere unique and the prices reasonable for a real night out. $75, including tip, bought us two cocktails, a Red Stripe beer, two entrees and an appetizer. I am not going to repeat the descriptions on their web site, but the service was extremely welcoming and friendly even on a busy Friday night. Reservations really are needed or you may have a long wait.
As for food: We had a Shrimp Ceviche appetizer special which was very good. The Blackened Mahi Mahi was excellent as was the Barbequed Jerk Chicken. The spicing was tame by Caribbean standards, if you want it really hot, you may want to insist on additional HOT sauce. The jerk sauce had only a mild punch, but this is Minnesota where black pepper is considered hot.
The mixed drinks were good and the bar atmosphere great. This is on a list as places to look for opportunities to visit.

A fun place with outstanding food! The owner, Toney Curtis, wanders around greeting customers, welcoming everyone, and making sure the food, and the experience, is the best.
