The Forest Lake Restaurant is really three distinct spaces. Upstairs are a restaurant and bar, downstairs is the fancier, and pricier, steak house. As the name implies it is located overlooking Forest Lake, although the views from downstairs are limited.

The upstairs has basic American food. They serve breakfast and I am told it is very good although I have never been there. Their dinner menu is also very good but nothing special.

The downstairs steak house includes a good wine list and daily specials. The food is excellent and of the kind you would expect in an upscale steakhouse including pasta, chicken, walleye and seafood in addition to the choices of beef.

This seems to be the place to go in Grand Rapids for a fancy night out.
